This fine violin bow was built by Hermann Albert Hoyer, propably in the 1920s. Born in 1888, he was the son and student of Wilhelm Hermann Hoyer. He started his own business in 1911. His bow poles were highly valued throughout Germany.

 

This gold-mounted violin bow was made from very high quality pernambuco wood. The octagonal pole is elastic and plays fluid and soft. The ebony frog has a greenish shimmering pearl-slide and the same simple eye. The head is very finely worked.

 

The bow weighs 66 g and its center of gravity is measured at 26.8 cm of the total length of 74.2 cm.
