Walter Ernst Kreul junior was born in Markneukirchen in 1895 and died in an air raid in Berlin-Spandau in 1944. He was the son and student of Ernst Karl Kreul senior. He worked for Julius Heinrich Zimmermann in Leipzig and passed his master's examination in 1920 in Markneukirchen. From 1929 on he worked independently in Markneukirchen.

The master was not only able to imitate well, but also built excellent instruments based on his own model. However, it seems that he was more oriented towards the Mittenwald school. The cleanly worked hollow groove and the careful edge inlays, as well as the deeply carved snail are proof of this.

The sound of the instrument is warm and rather dark. It impresses with clarity and meets the highest demands of professional musicians.
