Fritz Arnold Brückner was born in Markneukirchen in 1899. He was the son and pupil of Heinrich August Brückner and started his own business in 1925. He built excellent new string instruments in both modern and antique designs. He also copied Stradivari's ornate violins.

The violin shown here was built by Brückner in 1953 in his prime. The lacquer is amber and typical of the builder.
