Although the father made guitars, Gustav Arnold Gläsel decided to build violins. He learned the trade from Ernst Gläsel. That this was not a bad decision can be seen from this beautiful violin made according to the Stradivaris model.

The edge inlays are pulled out very far and executed very carefully. The deep-carves snail is also evidence of good craftsmanship. The instrument gets its special character from the beautifully grown spruce top and the onepiece, wonderfully flamed maple back. The yellow-brown lacquer is well preserved.
