Johann Georg Melzl from Straubing made this beautiful cello. It is unknown to whom he started his apprenticeship. He probably first worked in Munich and then went to G. Alois Thumbardt in Straubing, where he was succeeded. The exact year can no longer be seen on the note.

The instrument stands out due to its dark, red-brown lacquer.
