The violin maker Karl Herrmann left a replication of Antonio Meloni. He was a pupil of Max Dölling and worked for Julius Hempel in Hamburg before establishing himself in Markneukirchen in 1920.

This very precisely crafted violin gets its character from the dark brown lacquerwork, the onepiece, beautifully flamed maple back and the almost delicate snail.
