A very nice instrument by Richard Ludwig Gläsel , a rather unknown branch of the widely ramified family of violin makers. He was not only a violin maker but also traded in other musical instruments.

This violin has a spruce top with middle annual rings and a two-part maple back with fine flames that strive down both halves. The frame and snail are identical. The light brown lacquer is well preserved.
